Shoplifter tells police he had money to pay for candy | Black Diamond Police Blotter

Officers were dispatched to a business along 216th Avenue Southeast who was advising they had a shoplifter in custody. The reporting party advised he had observed the male subject take candy from the shelf and conceal it in his pocket, then exiting the store without paying for it. The male subject advised he had enough money to pay for the candy and must have forgotten about it. Officers issued the male subject a trespass notification upon the business owners request and he was issued a criminal citation/released.

LIFTING: 216th Avenue Southeast.

  • Officers were dispatched to a business along 216th Avenue Southeast who was advising they had a shoplifter in custody.  The reporting party advised he had observed the male subject take candy from the shelf and conceal it in his pocket, then exiting the store without paying for it.  The male subject advised he had enough money to pay for the candy and must have forgotten about it.  Officers issued the male subject a trespass notification upon the business owners request and he was issued a criminal citation/released.

WARRANTS: Black Diamond Elementary.

  • A woman was observed walking through the parking lot of Black Diamond Elementary School during non-business hours (after school hours).  The woman gave her identification and upon a records check it revealed she had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest in reference to domestic violence and obstructing charges.  The warrants were confirmed and the female was transferred to the Auburn Police Department to be booked into jail.

Feb. 26

DUI: 32600 block of 3rd Avenue.

  • An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 32600 block of 3rd Avenue weaving back and forth from the center line to the fog line, crossing both several times.  A traffic stop was initiated and the male driver was identified by his driver’s license.  While speaking with the driver the officer observed numerous signs of intoxication, but he still advised he had not been drinking.  The male driver agreed to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed.  The driver was arrested and transported to Enumclaw jail for driving under the influence processing.  Upon completion of a breath test the man was booked into jail on a DUI charge.
