The Black Diamond Community Center is now collecting school supplies for our Running Start program to help out low-income families in the greater Black Diamond area.

We need: backpacks, three-ring binders, spiral notebooks, paper packs, folders/peechees, calculators, Fiskar scissors, glue sticks, ball-point pens, markers, colored pencils, pink erasers, #2 pencils, pencil boxes and pouches.  If you would like to donate, you can call or come by the Community Center at 31605 Third Ave (SR 169) in Black Diamond.

We ask that supplies be dropped off by Monday, Aug. 18 so that we know what items we still need to purchase before the event. Call us at  360-886-1011 if you have any questions. The BDCC is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

If you are in need of supplies, applications are available now for youth in grades Kindergarten through 12th. Applications are due by Monday, Aug. 4.  School supplies will be distributed at the Black Diamond Community Center on Monday, Aug. 25, 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

Thank you to the following sponsors for supporting this program: United Way of King County, Maple Valley Black Diamond Rotary, King County Fire District 44 Local 3186, and St. Barbara Church in Black Diamond.
