Drivers traveling east of Snoqualmie Pass next week need to plan for added travel time due to rolling slowdowns, lane closures and nightly rock blasting closures.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close Interstate 90 for rock blasting at 7:30 p.m. each night for about an hour Monday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 14. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound traffic will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61).
Drivers could experience delays of up to 30 minutes due to daytime intermittent rolling slowdowns Monday through Friday about four miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit (milepost 56) around Keechelus Lake (milepost 61).
Daytime and nighttime lane closures in both directions could cause delays for drivers between Denny Creek (milepost 47) and the Price Creek vicinity (milepost 62 to 65) Monday through Friday. Intermittent ramp closures at the Cabin Creek and Stampede Pass interchanges will occur nightly from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning Monday through Friday.
