Rock blasting closures resume next week on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass as crews continue to make room for a new six-lane highway.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close I-90 at 7:30 p.m. for about an hour on Thursday, May 28. During rock blasting closures eastbound drivers will be stopped at milepost 56 near Gold Creek and westbound drivers will be stopped at milepost 61 near Price Creek.
Drivers will also experience minor delays at night due to a single lane eastbound closure from mileposts 56 to 61 on Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29. Drivers will experience daytime delays due to rolling slowdowns through the same location Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29.
WSDOT will permanently close the Price Creek Rest Area and Sno-Park on Wednesday, May 27. Drivers will be able to access restroom facilities at Travelers Rest at the summit of Snoqualmie Pass and at Indian John near Cle Elum.
