King County Parks has completed a significant overhaul of the playground equipment at Ravensdale Park play area, and the area has reopened for use.
The work is part of King County Parks’ safety inspection and maintenance program at its 29 play areas through the County’s system.
Workers inspect, remove and replace playground equipment as needed for safety and lifecycle maintenance. The work typically takes eight to 10 weeks to complete at each play area.
“A safe and engaging play area like this one in Ravensdale Park is great for families and community building,” said King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, whose district includes the Ravensdale area.
The play area safety inspection and maintenance program is made possible by the voter-approved 2014-19 King County Parks, Trails and Open Space Replacement Levy.
The Ravensdale Park play area is the fourth of 13 play area upgrade projects that King County Parks has completed with levy funding.
