COVINGTON

Oct. 6

VANDALISM: 27100 block of 164th Avenue Southeast. Someone scrawled in black marker on a bathroom stall at the Covington Library, which is an ongoing problem.

Oct. 5

THEFT: 17400 block of Southeast 270th Place. A Walmart customer’s purse was stolen from her cart while she was unloading her purchases into her vehicle.

DRIVE THROUGH: Someone stole a car from the Arby’s parking lot while the victim was inside the restaurant eating.

Oct. 4

GANG TAGS: 19400 block of Southeast 266th Street. A tagger named Miguel was found painting gang symbols with blue spray paint onto a fence and the side of the Circle K.

MAPLE VALLEY

Oct. 7

THEFT: 23700 block of 222nd Place Southeast. A man put his wallet down on top of a washing machine next to his detergent while doing his laundry at a laundromat. Someone stole the wallet while the man left it unattended.

Oct. 6

SIGN OF THE TIMES: 22000 block of Southeast 248th Street. A pair of teenage boys were seen with a banner sign after it went missing from the Greater Maple Valley Community Center. They were headed north on Witte Road but the person reporting the theft could not provide police with a description.

VANDALISM: 26900 block of Maple Valley Highway. Someone drew graffiti on the vacant building next door to 4 Corners Teriyaki.

Oct. 5

ENERGIZER BUNNY TIME: 22100 block of Southeast 237th Street. A shoplifter was caught stealing batteries and iodine from Bartell Drugs.

Oct. 4

FORGETFUL: 21900 block of Southeast Wax Road. A mother called in to report her son was missing but she was so intoxicated she didn’t recall giving her son permission to stay the night at a friend’s house, where the boy was found by police.
