DISPUTE: 26000 block of Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road. While attempting to retrieve belongings from a home she had previously rented a woman was blocked in by her former land lord who demanded she pay him $2,000 for a broken water pipe. He would not allow her to collect her things or leave the property until she paid him back.
At some point during the confrontation the landlord’s son arrived in a van. He bumped the woman with the van while revving the engine several times, according to the former tenant, while he claims that she walked in front of the vehicle while he was passing her in the driveway and that she slammed the side view mirror with her shoulder. The woman told deputies that she wasn’t in pain after being bumped by the van.
A trio of deputies spoke with the landlord and his son in an effort to explain that they could not prevent the woman from getting her belongings or leaving the property. Both men argued with the officers that they could do that but eventually relented and allowed the woman to leave with her things.
The landlord was told that he needed to take up the matter in civil court and he agreed that was the best route to take to resolve the situation.

LOOSE CHANGE: 25900 Lake Wilderness Country Club Drive. Some time between 11 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 3 someone entered a woman’s car and stole change from her ash tray. When a King County Sheriff’s deputy arrived the victim handed him a garage door opener that didn’t belong to her. It was most likely left behind on the car seat by the thief.
The deputy walked outside and pressed the button of the garage door opener and saw a neighbors’ garage door respond. He contacted the neighbor who didn’t know that his vehicle, which had been left unlocked, had been prowled as the only item missing was the garage door opener. The deputy returned the door opener to neighbor.
There are no suspects and the deputy reported he was unable to lift latent prints from either car.
