The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council is hosting a fundraising launch party in the alley between Starbucks and QFC in Lake Wilderness Village today, Friday from 6 to 7 p.m.
The council is planning to create a pocket park in that alley, but still needs $23,000 to complete the project. According to their Facebook page, they have $35,000 already pledged for the project in the form of grants, personal donations and donations from local businesses.
Coffee and pastries will be provided by Starbucks and there will be live music by a couple 2015 Idol Jr. contestants and vocal workshop participants at the party.
The council is collecting donations on Indiegogo.
More information on the project can be found here.
