Pair of repeat offenders caught with suspended license and multiple arrest warrants | Police Blotter

Covington and Maple Valley police blotter for the week of March 29-April 2.

COVINGTON

April 3

REPEAT OFFENDERS: 17400 block of Southeast 270th Place. A pair of repeats shoplifters were caught fleeing Walmart in a vehicle after stealing from the store. One was driving with a second degree suspended license while the other had three warrants out for his arrest. The vehicle was impounded and both were booked into jail.

April 1

EARTH FRIENDLY THIEF: 16700 block of Southeast 272nd Street. Repeat DVD shoplifters hit Fred Meyer. The typical modus operandi of these shoplifters is to fill a reusable shopping bag with movies and leave the store.

March 29

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: 26400 block of 163rd Avenue Southeast. A man believed he was chased by six other men with bats.

ARSON: 25200 block of 180th Avenue Southeast, A small fire was started on the playground at Crestwood Elementary School.

MAPLE VALLEY

April 3

THEFT: 26600 block of Maple Valley Highway. Someone stole a backhoe from a fenced property. There were no signs of forced entry.

March 30

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: 27200 block of Witte Road Southeast. While on his way out of the house, a man discovered a two-foot long

stuffed iguana on his porch. The creature had been cut open, stuffed with an unidentified material then sewn back together with dental floss.

March 28

STOLEN CAR: 26900 block of 176th Place Southeast. A woman’s car was stolen from the driveway in front of her home. She suspects her sister stole the car.

BURGLARLY: 21600 block of Southeast 271st. Someone shattered the glass on the rear French doors of an unoccupied home then stole items from inside.
