Ring in the new year at the Greater Maple Valley Community Center. Send out the old and ring in the new on Dec. 31 with entertainment, appetizers, a “special recipe” beverage and dancing. That will be followed by an elegant lunch of garlic stuffed roasted pork.

Send out the old and ring in the new on Dec. 31 with entertainment, appetizers, a “special recipe” beverage and dancing.

That will be followed by an elegant lunch of garlic stuffed roasted pork.

The special party price of $5 will apply but the community center does, however, have scholarship money available.

Also circle Jan. 4 on the calendar for a 50+ trip to the Picasso exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum and Jan. 18 for a trip to the Muckleshoot Casino.

Many other regular programs are offered for those over the age of 50 at the community center including fitness programs, a Wii sports league, health care assistance, outings and much more.

The community center is located at 22010 S.E. 248th St., Maple Valley.
