Mayor-related resolutions on upcoming Black Diamond agenda

Council to discuss the mayor's request for legal representation related to sexual harassment allegation

The Black Diamond City Council will address a pair of mayor-related items at its council meeting on April 17.

One resolution on the docket involves a resolution that would “suspend the practice of permitting the Mayor to sign contracts without the specific approval of the City Council.” The resolution states that city code allows the city to regulate or impose restrictions on transfers between individual appropriations within any fund of the city.

The council will also vote on a resolution accepting the mayor’s request for legal representation and providing for reimbursement of the mayor’s attorneys fees and costs in relation to a sexual harassment claim.
