Despite an incident yesterday that caused a sewage spill into Pipe Lake, a test of a water sample by the Seattle Public Utilities laboratory have determined the water is safe for swimming.
The overflow was caused by a sewage blockage that has been removed.
The crew spent yesterday flushing lines. The odor is expected to dissipate within two days.
Notification was given after the spill to the Departments of Ecology and Health, King County, and the city of Maple Valley.
The amount of sewage entering the lake was 100- 200 gallons.
