Maple Valley Youth Symphony to open seventh season Friday

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will be opening their seventh concert season with “A Whole New World” Concert.

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will be opening their seventh concert season with “A Whole New World” Concert Nov. 8.

This concert will feature Dvorak’s “New World Symphony,” Disney’s “Whole New World,” and more. Performers will be dressed in costumes from around the world.

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra began in the fall of 2007 with eight students and has grown to close to 120 students with four rrchestras, and several small ensembles, as well as two beginning strings classes, and a special needs music program.

The Nov. 8 concert will feature the Jr. Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and some small ensembles.

The concert will be held at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. This is a for donation only concert. Donations will support young musicians in our community. For more information about MVYSO programs or events visit www.mvyso.org or call (425) 433-6009.
