The Maple Valley City Council voted to approve the nominations for the Parks and Recreations Commission on May 9.

Those recommended by Mayor Gerken  were Aaron Bubnick, Sherie Credle, Sean Kelly, Eric Larson, Dave Sanderson, Chris Tallman and Pat Weiler. Sarah Gilbert-Newell was approved as an alternative/nonvoting member.

All members are required to live within the corporate limits of the city. Commission members serve three-year terms that expire on December 31, and each successive term begins January 1.  The Commission has a staggered term system.

The terms for Credle, Larson, Tallman, and Gilbert-Newell will expire in 2013, while those for Budnick, Kelly, Sanderson and Wiler will expire in 2014.

When the terms have all expired, the Commissions members from then on will serve three year terms. The Commission was established February 14.
