A bar fight at the Red Dog Saloon in the early morning hours left a 27-year-old Maple Valley man dead and his 49-year-old father injured from stab wounds.
The fight occurred at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, March 20, at the Red Dog Saloon located at 18605 S.E. Renton-Maple Valley Road in unincorporated King County.
The 27-year-old son died at Harborview Medical Center and the father, also from Maple Valley, underwent surgery according to Sgt. John Urquhart, spokesman for the King County Sheriff’s Office. The father’s condition has not been released.
Urquhart reported a 40-year-old man is in custody as a suspect. He was booked into the King County jail for investigation of homicide and assault.
According to Urquhart, the bar fight involved 10 to 14 patrons who were either fighting or attempting to break up the fight. As the fight broke up in the bar, some of those involved were pushed out of the bar.
The father and son were stabbed in the parking lot of the bar.
The suspect left the scene with a woman and he was arrested about two hours later near the scene of the bar at his residence.
