Maple Valley Food Bank seeks community support for school supplies

The Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services is committed is working to provide new backpacks filled with the essentials for a positive start to the new year for children in the community. Many families are unable to purchase essential school supplies.

The Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services is committed is working to provide new backpacks filled with the essentials for a positive start to the new year for children in the community. Many families are unable to purchase essential school supplies. In order to provide the backpacks, community support is urgently needed.

More than a dozen local businesses are hosting fliers and collection sites including Maple Valley and Covington King County library branches and Starbucks locations. Additional Covington sites include MultiCare and Surfrider Coffee Company. In Maple Valley visit City Perk, Greater Maple Valley Community Center, Village Coffee, El Caporal Mexican Restaurant and Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services. Simply pick up a flier, purchase supplies and donate by Aug. 22. Monetary donations are always welcome at the food bank for bulk and wholesale items.
