Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety will be hosting its inaugural open house and kid’s day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Station 81, 22225 S.E. 231st Street.
This will be a chance to meet firefighters, ask questions and catch a glance of the fire station, the department’s training and its capabilities.
The events this year will include a firefighter challenge for the kids, simulated safety house, a bouncy toy if weather permits, fire station tours and a chance to operate the “Jaws of Life.”
There will also be a demonstration by the Special Operations Team and an auto extrication simulation.
A hot dog, chips and a soda can be purchased for $2.
Parking will be available at the Park and Ride located at 22100 Maple Valley Highway S.E. with shuttles running every 5 minutes.
