The Maple Valley Farmers Market will feature a Fourth of July theme this weekend with a watermelon eating contest.

The Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rock Creek Elementary. It continues until the beginning of October.

Around 40 vendors participate, with items such as flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, to honey, jam, baked goods and handmade artisan crafts.
