The second season of the Maple Valley Farmers Market kicks off with celebratory festivities to mark its grand opening 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
The market will be open for business 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June 19 through Oct. 9 Rock Creek Elementary School 25700 state Route 169.
Opening day festivities include a welcome and ribbon cutting ceremony with the assistance of local Girl Scout Troop 2520, and a special performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner” by Jacklyn Rupert. The Maple Valley Youth Symphony will provide entertainment. The Enumclaw master gardeners will be on hand for questions; and there will be a guest appearance – live alpaca from Sugar and Spice Alpaca.
Over 40 vendor stalls are expected for opening day at the market, selling items including produce, cheese, and bread items; prepared foods; artisan products; plants–and too many other items to list. The market will also feature a local winery, Isabella Grace. Several new vendors will make their first appearance this year, including Gone to Seed, Chelane’s Jam, Uncle Dennis’ Food, Alpacas at Morning Star Ranch, Dailey Bagel, EJ’s Custom Catering, Cougar Mountain Kettle Corn Company, Simply Luscious, Leah Gendreau, Copper Star Designs, Donna Stoufer, Zay Publishing, Lara Lutrick, Lori Bergmann and Kelin Doner (Young Entrepreneur), George’s Bakery of North Bend and Silver Springs Creamery. The market provides entrepreneurs and farmers with a local venue for their products and provides community members with an opportunity to support local family businesses.
