Planning for emergencies will be the topic of the Maple Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair Oct. 11 at Rock Creek Elementary School.

The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The school is at 25700 Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road SE.

Information will be available from emergency agencies and local governments. Demonstrations will include the King County Sheriff Department’s helicopter.
