Maple Valley City Council holds on City Hall

A decision on leasing space for a City Hall was put on hold by the City Council Monday.

The members went into two executive sessions during the evening, but the members came out at about 11:30 unable to reach a consensus in open meeting.

Mayor Laure Iddings said at the end of the night the members would wait until David Johnston, the new city manager, comes on the job to be part of the negotiations. He is scheduled to start by Wednesday.

According to the special meeting notice the lease for the property was for 10 years.

Members can go into executive session, which is not open to the public, to receive legal direction and consider property acquisition.

Voting or action on the acquisition must be done in an open meeting.
