Sometime between late Thursday night and early Friday morning six Maple Valley businesses were burglarized resulting in thousands of dollars in loss.
The businesses are located in the Maple Valley Center and Hagen Plaza. The Maple Valley Police Department is currently investigating these crimes, according to department officials.
Of the six businesses just one had an alarm system. Once the alarm was tripped, police arrived within four minutes.
Maple Valley Police encourages all business owners to consider installing alarm systems and owners or employees to call 9-1-1 and report any suspicious activity, persons, or vehicles in or around businesses.
To help local businesses combat crimes like this, the police department is partnering with the Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce to host a Community Business Crime Prevention Summit on a date to be announced.
