A 40-year-old in Covington was killed July 5 after reportedly being shot by his roommate.

According to a media release from the King County Sheriff’s Office, the 20-year-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of manslaughter.

King County deputies were dispatched shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday to the 17400 block SE Wax Road.

Deputies began CPR on the victim and when medics arrived shortly afterward they continued CPR, the release stated. They were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The release stated the investigation is leaning toward this incident being an accident.

Charges will be determined and filed by the King County Prosecutors Office, the release added.
