Ladies night benefits Maple Valley Food Bank

Johnson Home & Garden will be hosting its fourth annual Ladies Night Tuesday, Nov. 6.

According to a media release, no men are allowed and you must be 21 years or older to attend.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at the service desk day of or online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ladies-night-tickets-48303862152.

Space is limited to 300 guests. Each attendee will receive a goodie bag.

Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go toward the Maple Valley Food Bank.

Monthly meeting scheduled for next week

The Greater Maple Valley Unincorporated Area Council is holding its monthly meeting from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 at Maple Valley Fire Station 81.

On the agenda is the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Interstate 90/Front Street interchange justification report/study.

Representatives from the WSDOT, King County Department of Transportation and the city of Issaquah will be in attendance.

Video seminar to help those struggling with loss

Auburn’s Wabash Church is hosting a video seminar entitled “Surviving the Holidays” for the public from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19.

For those dealing with the grief of loss, the holidays can be a very trying time. “Surviving the Holidays” is packed full of practical advice and teaching from grief experts on how to navigate the difficult waters of grief, especially as it relates to the holidays. Topics include “What To Do With Your Holiday Emotions,” “Having a Plan,” “Tips For Surviving Social Events” and more. Each participant will receive a “Surviving the Holidays” survival guide.

The event is free, but donations are encouraged to cover the cost of materials. You must register for the event so that materials may be ordered for you.

Youth concert Nov. 3

This Saturday, join the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra beginning at 7 p.m. for a night with Heroes and Villains.

The concert will feature music celebrating the dark and heroic sides of music.

The orchestra will holds this event at the Performing Arts Center at Tahoma.
