Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.

–Council members will proclaim the week of September 28 to October 4, 2015 as Diaper Need Awareness Week in King County

 

–Council members will hear public testimony during their monthly public comment period. Speakers will have two minutes to address the Council on matters relating to county government.

 

Council members are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

  • A motion making an appointment to fill the vacancy in the 48th legislative district of the Washington state House of Representatives (Motion 2015-0380).

Committee of the Whole –6:30 p.m. ***Special meeting time and location***

The committee will hold a Town Hall meeting at the Bullitt Center 1501 E. Madison St., Seattle

  • The public and councilmembers will learn about the collaboration and cooperation taking place to protect the environment from the impacts of global climate change.  Panelist will include:

o   Capt. Leo Goff, Ph.D., Center for Naval Analysis Military Advisory Board,

o   Patty Bowman, Director of Social Outreach, St. James Cathedral,

  • An ordinance renaming Lakewood Park in honor of Dick Thurnau, to recognize his service, dedication and profound influence in the White Center community (Ordinance 2015-0305).
