• Councilmembers will welcome County Executive Dow Constantine as he delivers his 2015 State of the County Address.
Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.
–Councilmembers will hear public testimony during their monthly public comment period. Speakers will have two minutes to address
Councilmembers on matters relating to county government.
Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:
• A motion declaring that it is county policy to establish a paid parental leave program for King County employees and directing the executive to develop and transmit a work plan for implementing a paid parental leave program and a report on the costs and benefits of implementing and providing a paid parental leave program (Substitute Motion 2015-0102.2).
• A motion related to the transfer of retired vanpool vans to nonprofit organizations and local governments to meet the needs of low‑income, elderly, disabled and young county citizens (Substitute Motion 2015-0160.2).
• An ordinance establishing a new deadline for the 2015 update to the Strategic Plan for Public Transportation 2011‑2021 and the King County Metro Service Guidelines (Ordinance 2015-0144).
• A motion approving an action plan related to the 2015/2016 Biennial Budget Ordinance for changes to the food program permit fee structure (Substitute Motion 2015-0069.2)
