Kentwood’s Reese McGuire was the 14th overall draft pick this afternoon going to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first round of Major League Baseball’s first year player draft.

McGuire played on two state championship baseball teams during his career at Kentwood and was recently named the Washington state baseball Gatorade Player of the Year.
