Kentlake High seniors William Rosling and Ashlee Newsom both received scholarships May 30 from the Covington Chamber of Commerce and Richard and Ina Valash at the school’s senior awards night.
Rosling received the Chamber scholarship for $500. The scholarship goes to a student that is planning to major in business. Among Rosling’s accomplishments were his involvement in DECA, Key Club, serving on the city’s Budget Priorities Advisory Committee, and community service as a member of National Honors Society.
Newsom received the Richard and Ina Valash scholarship. Newsom plans to study business and engineering.
Newsom has played on Kentlake’s varsity soccer team on which she has served as captain for two years, been a Link Crew leader, participated in Kentlake’s leadership program, plays club soccer and has completed community service with Ronald McDonald House.
