More than 300 students celebrated their graduation from Kentlake High on Saturday afternoon at ShoWare Center in Kent.
The ceremony was punctuated by student speeches from Mackenzie Higgins, Joel Firman and Rachel Clark, social studies teacher Theresa Turner offering words of encouragement to the graduates, a performance of “Fireworks” by American Sign Language students as well as Brandon Balles, who played guitar and sang “No Such Thing” by John Mayer and Jacob Axelson performed “Here’s Where I Stand.”
Principal Joe Potts even put on his Kentlake baseball cap while standing at the podium as he highlighted the accomplishments of the students academically, on stage, and on the athletic courts and fields.
