Kent School District is seeking input from the community as it selects a new superintendent. It asks that community members share their thoughts by completing an online survey about the characteristics and qualities important to them in a new superintendent. The survey will be available until Dec. 18 at 8 a.m.
On the survey, characteristics can be selected from a list, or additional traits can be noted. This input will help the Board and the search firm build a profile. Responses to the survey are anonymous and the combined results will be shared with the community.
Ray and Associates Inc. developed the survey as a part of its contract with Kent School District to conduct a national search for a permanent superintendent. The firm specializes in educational executive leadership candidate search and recruitment for public schools, private schools, and higher education institutions. The survey is part of a larger search process that will also include interviews involving staff, students, families, and community members.
Dr. Tony Apostle is currently serving as the District’s interim superintendent. He will serve until a permanent replacement for Dr. Edward Lee Vargas is in place.
