Kent School Board is seeking candidates for the vacant board position representing District No. 4.

Consistent with Washington State law and State Board of Education regulations, the selection for the vacant board position will be made by the incumbent board members.

Applications are available for those interested in being considered as candidates.

Packets are available at the district web site or by contacting the superintendent’s office at 253-373-7701.

Deadline is 4 p.m. on June 15.

The next steps, which will take place over a few weeks, for selecting a new school board member are:

· The board members review application information – June 25.

· Interviews are then conducted in public. At the conclusion of the public interviews, the board will recess to an executive session to review qualifications.

The board will reconvene to announce the selected board member – June 26.

· The selected candidate will take the oath of office and be seated at the next regularly scheduled board meeting – June 27.
