Kent Fire Department to conduct exercise tomorrow

The exercise will run from approximately 9 a.m. to noon

The Kent Fire Department will be conducting a multi-agency communications exercise Nov. 12 at several locations in the greater Kent area. The exercise will run from approximately 9 a.m. to noon.

The following locations will be used:

• Kent National Guard Armory, 20819 72 Ave.

• City of Kent property, intersection of 124 Avenie Southeast and Southeast 248th Street.

• Centerpoint Complex, 20819 72 Ave.

The objectives of the exercise are:

• To test the local alert and notification process used to request county and state resources.

• To test communications interoperability with other participating agencies, communications teams and field units.

• To establish and work in multiple remote locations.

The following agencies will be participating in the exercise:

• Kent Fire Department RFA.

• Kent Office of Emergency Management.

• Valley Communications.• Washington State National Guard.

• Kent Communications Support Team.

• City of Kent.

• King County Office of Emergency Management .

• King County Sheriff’s Office.

• Washington State Emergency Management Division.
