The Kent Fire Department will be conducting live fire training 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 13, 14, 15, and 16 at 15328 and 15406 S.E. 280th Street.
Live fire training utilizes donated structures and burning them in a controlled manner. All harmful materials such as asbestoses, roofing materials, and carpeting are removed before burning.
This training allows firefighters to study fire behavior and different firefighting techniques.
The Kent Fire Department will try to minimize the impact of this training on the public. There will be smoke generated during these training sessions, and we cannot predict where the weather might carry it. We recommend closing your windows and doors in the event that smoke travels onto your property. While we hope that this will not occur, please plan accordingly.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Kent Fire Department at 253-856-4330.
