Kent area high schools host “K-Day: Leave Your Legacy”

Annual event unites high schools and the community

Kent School District high schools have come together to sponsor K-Day, an event open to the community with the hope of forging partnerships and effecting positive change.

The four high schools are working in partnership with the Kent Police Department and the District to bring a message of unity.

The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 at the Kentridge High School gym. Admission is $1 and benefits Kent Hope House. The community is invited.

The keynote speaker, Houston Kraft, is a leadership consultant and kindness advocate. He the founder of CharacterStrong and the Choose Love Movement. Bob Mortimer is an acclaimed author of “Hope and Courage Across America” which tells the story of his journey as a triple amputee traveling with his family from Gig Harbor to the Statue of Liberty on bicycles.

Break dancers from Kentridge, Kent-Meridian, Kentlake, and Kentwood high schools will perform at the event.
