Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety personnel responded to a home on fire 26900 block of 232nd Avenue Southeast about 10:25 this morning, according to Fire Marshal Scott Webster.
“There was an off duty firefighter there that called it in,” Webster said. “It was about 30 percent involved already. We got there, we started with a defensive attack then did our primary search, then we got confirmation that the homeowner was not there.”
Webster noted that no one was injured and two adults who lived at the home were displaced.
Early estimates on damage caused to the home and items inside were at about $250,000, Webster said.
Kent Regional Fire Authority, Renton Fire and Mountain View Fire all provided assistance in fighting the fire.
