Green River trustee chair appointed to state college board

Green River Community College Board of Trustees Chair Tom Campbell was elected to the board of the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges at its May meeting. Campbell will serve as a member-at-large on the statewide nine-member board for the next year.

Green River Community College Board of Trustees Chair Tom Campbell was elected to the board of the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges at its May meeting. Campbell will serve as a member-at-large on the statewide nine-member board for the next year.

As a member of the TACTC board of directors, Campbell will help oversee the non-profit organization established to educate and support the trustees of the state’s 30 two-year community colleges. He will serve in the at large position until May 2014 with eight other board members. The board of directors sets the direction for the association and represents the membership between meetings.

Campbell was appointed to Green River Community College’s board of trustees in April 2009. He serves on the five-member board with Kent attorney Mark Albertson, former Auburn superintendent Linda Cowan, former state senator Claudia Kauffman and Auburn mayor Pete Lewis.

In addition to his work as an attorney as part of the Law Office of Steven D. Weier, Inc. in Auburn, Campbell serves on the board of the White River Valley Museum and is active in the Rotary Club of Auburn.
