Ginger Luke began Ginger’s Pet Rescue about three years ago and she specializes in saving and finding homes.

“We save death row dogs,” Luke said, referring to dogs about to be euthanized.

“I did not found pet rescue,” Luke said “It found me.”

Luke, who owns the Rickshaw Restaurant and Lounge in Seattle, found her first dog about four years ago while making a food order delivery to an apartment where a man was keeping a dog locked up. She gave the man $50 and took the dog and found it a home.

Ginger’s Pet Rescue is always looking for volunteers to provide foster homes for dogs while a permanent home is secured.
