Washington State Ferries will transport furry fans and hundreds of their human friends to Seattle for Bark at the Park on May 24 as the Seattle Mariners take on the Oakland A’s. Passengers also will have a chance to adopt a pet from the Seattle Humane MaxMobile mobile adoption center, which will be parked on the ferry car deck. Once at Colman Dock, canine and human baseball fans will join the Mariner Moose and take to the streets for a first-of-its-kind parade to Safeco Field.
Fans are invited aboard the 3:50 p.m. sailing from Bainbridge to Seattle as they make their way to the game. Wear your team colors and join the Mariner Moose and Mariners’ Navigators Street Team inside the Seattle terminal building for a historic photo prior to parade kick off.
“We are thrilled to team up with Washington State Ferries for the second ‘Ferry Tails’ adoption event,” said Megan Dishneau of Seattle Humane. “Mariners fans have two opportunities – on the ferry and outside Safeco Field at the corner of Occidental Avenue and Edgar Martinez Drive – to board the bright yellow MaxMobile adoption bus and meet adoptable pets. Those who find a match can place a hold, enjoy the baseball game, and finalize the adoption the following day at Seattle Humane in Bellevue.”
All customers are encouraged to buy tickets in advance to beat the rush on the way home from Safeco Field.
