At 10:25 p.m. units from the Kent and Maple Valley Fire Departments responded to a report of a possible house fire in the 18800 block of SE 269 Street.
When the first units arrived, they found a fire in the bedroom area of the single story structure. The fire had also spread to the attic space. Firefighters were able to control the fire quickly and preserve the house. No other homes in the cul-de-sac were affected.
A search of the building revealed that no one was in the structure at the time of the fire. The owner has been contacted and has confirmed that no one is currently living there and that the house was undergoing remodeling.
There were no injuries at the fire and it is currently under investigation.
In addition to the Maple Valley Fire Department, King County Medic One and the Zone 3 Fire Explorers Rehab unit also responded to this incident.
