On Thursday Nov. 6 at 11:01 p.m. in the 24000 block of Southeast 253rd Place, fire crews from Maple Valley Fire & Life Safety and Kent Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire. Upon arrival firefighters found fire coming from the attached garage. All of the occupants had safely evacuated the house. Damage was limited to the garage.
Officials said firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and pulled ceiling in the garage to check for extension to the structure. The cause of the fire was from an electrical appliance. Loss was estimated at $30,000. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.
