A fire destroyed a barn on Green Valley Road near Auburn yesterday, according to the Mountain View Fire and Rescue.
Firefighters were first alerted to the fire after a neighbor called 9-11.
Valley Regional Fire Authority was first on scene and had to cut a lock to gain access to the barn.
Other departments involved included MVFR, Enumclaw Fire, the King County Sheriff’s Office and King County Medic One.
By the time firefighters arrived, the barn was completely engulfed by the flames. Due to the location, the firefighters were forced to drive six miles to the nearest hydrant to fill up water.
The Green Valley Road was closed for two hours due to the fire.
The barn had two horses and two dogs inside.The horses were able to escape, but the dogs are presumed to have perished in the fire.
Additionally, the owner lost several vehicles, 100 bales of hat and personal belongings.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and an investigation is currently underway.
