A brush fire broke out along the trail behind KeyBank at Four Corners in Maple Valley at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at the same time firefighters were fighting the Elk Run Golf Course blaze.
Citizens fought the fire and were able to douse the flames until the a Kent Fire crew arrived to spray the area down.
Mark Fasano said he had just bought a shovel at Johnson’s Home and Garden Center and was driving by when he saw the flames and smoke. He jumped out of his vehicle and fought the fire with others until Kent firefighters arrived.
Most firefighting units were fighting the Elk Run Golf Course fire when the Four Corners fire broke out.
The cause of the fire is not known as this time.
