Eight people, four adults and four children, have been displaced following a mobile home fire in the 24500 block of Russell Road in Kent early this morning, according to a release from the Kent Fire Department RFA.
The fire, which was reported by the residents at 12:46 a.m., burned a hole through the side of the single-wide trailer and caused smoke damage throughout the structure.
No one was injured in the fire.A Kent Fire Department RFA fire investigator has determined that the fire was caused by an overheated electrical outlet on an exterior wall and was accidental.
There were no smoke alarms in the residence. Smoke alarms save lives and give the early warning necessary to escape a fire safely.
The Kent Fire Department RFA has supplied the residents with a smoke alarm to protect them in the future.
