Another weekend, another eastbound I-90 lane closure. However, unlike the usual Friday night toMonday morning closure, this work is wrapping up a whole 24 hours earlier than normal. Woohoo! Regardless, with all the festivities happening in and around the Seattle area this weekend, it’s important that you plan ahead.
Contractor crews with the I-90 Two-Way Transit and HOV Operations project will reduce eastbound traffic to one lane near Rainier Avenue at 11 p.m. Friday, March 10. Drivers will then be routed into the express lanes to cross Lake Washington until 5 a.m. Sunday, March 12.
This is the 22nd of as many as 30 weekend-long closures since January 2015. However, additional work is scheduled for March 24-27, as well as April 7-10 and 21-24. So make sure you plan for additional weekend-long closures until the project wraps up in mid-2017.
