For the Reporter
The Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (DAWN) is offering an intensive training for those interested in knowing how to prevent or de-escalate interpersonal/community violence.
The presentation is based on a national, evidence-based program and has proven to reduce incidents of violence in communities where the information, responsibility and accountability are shared. At the end of the four days, attendees will be qualified to teach what they have learned to others in shorter, more targeted ways, such as employee groups, neighborhoods, social circles and with family members.
Attendees must commit to the full four days. Attendees that participate in this program will be encouraged to share this information with co-workers, neighbors and family. The goal is to spread this information throughout the region helping DAWN rise up for domestic peace.
The program is a radical new way for communities to act together: a collective of individuals taking the initiative, responsibility and bringing about accountability for peaceful communities.
The service is offered on a limited basis. Registration must be complete by July 25. There is a nominal fee of $100 to cover the cost of materials. Register at gdtdawn.eventzilla.net. event code: GDTDAWN (case sensitive).
