Cooking fire causes about $5,000 of damage to home | Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety firefighters were dispatched to a cooking fire at a single family residence at about 8 p.m.

COOKING FIRE: 27600 block of 238th Place Southeast.

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety firefighters were dispatched to a cooking fire at a single family residence at about 8 p.m.

Upon arrival firefighters found that the occupants had safely evacuated. There was no sign of a fire. Firefighters entered the residence to find the fire already extinguished.  A thermal imaging camera was used to ensure no fire had extended into the structure.

The cause was from an unattended pot of cooking oil on the stove.

Content loss was estimated at $5,000.
