Concert series for Maple Valley Food Bank

The Maple Valley Food Bank is hosting a concert series that began July 19 and runs through July 22.

The Fight Hunger Feed Hope concert series begins at 7 p.m. each night — tonight, Friday, July 20, features Lucia Flores-Wiseman at Vintage Vino and Espresso, Saturday will feature Cece and the Boys at DaVine Whiskey & Wine Bar and Sunday includes music from Dakota Poorman at Imbibe Bottle House & Taproom.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.

Bingo night in Maple Valley July 27

Two local girl scouts — Emma and Genavieve — are working on their Girl Scout Silver Award.

The award is the highest award you can received in Girl Scouts, according to Emma.

The girls have partnered with the Maple Valley Library Guild to bring a bingo night to Maple Valley.

A family bingo night will be held Friday, July 27 at the Maple Valley Library, doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Bingo cards will be sold for $2. If interested in participating, you can pre-order tickets by contacting them at troop42868@gmail.com.

You must pre-order by July 22 to secure a spot.

Activities for kids along with prizes for the whole family including s’mores supplies and gift cards to local businesses will also be at the event.

Child care will also be available.

Groundbreaking set

The city of Maple Valley will be hosting a groundbreaking event 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 for Summit Park.

The event comes after the city council approved the funds to complete the project.

Construction on the park is expected to begin in August and be completed by summer 2019.
