City of Maple Valley looking for Lake Wilderness Citizen Advisory Committee members

The city of Maple Valley is seeking volunteers to serve a two-year term on the 2011/2012 Lake Wilderness Citizen Advisory Committee.

The city of Maple Valley is seeking volunteers to serve a two-year term on the 2011/2012 Lake Wilderness Citizen Advisory Committee. The committee was created to represent city residents and property owners to the City Council. The committee provides input on the lake’s annual work program and the year-end report to City Council, the City Manager and the Lake Wilderness Preservation Association.

There are four positions open. The five-member committee is comprised of three members, one alternate, one representative from the city of Maple Valley and one member from King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks. Citizen members must reside, or be property owners within the city limits and one member must be a Lake Wilderness shoreline property owner. Citizen members are appointed by the mayor, subject to the consent of the City Council. The committee will meet a minimum of four evenings each year at a date and time convenient to the members. The applications will be accepted through Dec.17. Applicants will be asked to meet with the mayor and deputy mayor for a short interview.
