City of Covington purchases new anti-icer

This new system holds three times more than the old one and mounts to the five-yard dump truck

The city of Covington maintenance department purchased a new anti-icer unit. The old system will be placed in surplus with plans to sell it to a local city that is in need of a unit.

This new system holds three times more than the old one and mounts to the five-yard dump truck (swaploader). It can be loaded and unloaded in a matter of minutes and will allow the city to apply anti-icer in two lanes at once, thus reducing the time it takes to get the streets protected. The new system will also serve as a watering truck.
