Cedar Grove is hosting a company-wide food drive the week of Nov. 10 and collected donations will be given to the Maple Valley Food Bank. In addition to supporting the Maple Valley Food Bank, the company is hosting employee food drives at each of its locations and partnering with local food banks in those respective communities so that the food collected stays local.
“The Maple Valley Food Bank has appreciated its partnership with Cedar Grove over the years,” said Lila Henderson, executive director, Maple Valley Food Bank. “From food and toy drives from their employees to providing compost for our vegetable garden, Cedar Grove’s presence in our community is a gift.”
The Maple Valley Food Bank serves an average of 2,000 families per year, and approximately 40 percent of those served are children.
“In the spring Cedar Grove supports the Maple Valley Food Bank with soil to grow healthy food for clients,” said Karen Dawson, director of community relations, Cedar Grove. “As we enter the colder months and the holiday season, this food drive is an opportunity for our company and its employees to support Maple Valley residents at a time when many families find themselves in their greatest need.”
If community members would like to contribute to this food drive, they are welcome to bring their donations to 17825 Cedar Grove Road, Maple Valley (8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday) during the week of Nov. 10.
